Growing up around beautiful and stylish women like my mom and Maa(grandma) I was surrounded by beautiful jewellery, each piece they wore had a story a meaning a significance and that’s why I think Indian jewellery is so special its and just an accessory it’s a family heirloom which has its own history. I’ve been fortunate enough to borrow a lot of these pieces and am going to share with you my top 3.
The Chand Set
This beautiful polka set is enough to make heads turn handed down from my Maa to my mother it has a history spanning over 50 year but time has only enhanced its beauty’s when I wear it I take great pride in its legacy.
The Diamond Choker
This diamond and pearl choker is a newer piece compared to others but what it does is brings our traditions to the 21st century it can be worn with a Lehnga or a gown which I have done in the past.
The gold and ruby set is my favourite piece not just for its beauty but because my dad wanted to empower my mom a young 18yr old coming to a huge family, he was worried she might get overwhelmed so he put it on her in front of the family to show her that he had her back and would always love and support her.
